Basically, there are three tests: Reading, Writing, and Oral. I did the Reading and Writing tests on Thursday. "A" is the lowest level and "C" is the highest level. There's also an "extra" level, E -- for exempt. What that means is that they think your language is good enough that you will not lose the ability to use it. So you don't have to be retested. You have to get retested for all the other levels, every 5 years.
Anyway, I got my results today -- sooner than expected. I got an "E" in Reading and an "E" in Writing.
I never, ever have to do those stupid tests again. Yay!
I will still have to do my Oral test -- I'm not sure when that will happen, and it hasn't been scheduled yet. But I'm feeling rather less apprehensive about it now.
The extra bonus to all of this is that I'm getting tested for a job that I applied for -- you may remember me asking you for good thoughts for an interview a few weeks ago. The fact that I'm getting tested at all is a strong indicator that the interview went well, and that they're seriously considering me for the job. I'm cautiously optimistic at this point.
I was going to have a quiet night at home tonight -- a reprieve before all the holiday parties.
I think I will have to celebrate instead.
