rohan, helm, sword

While I shake my stick at young people these days

I went to the Tokyo Police Club show last night. It was a lot of fun. The opening bands (Ruby Coast and Winter Gloves) were enjoyable (I particularly liked Winter Gloves, who have a very Canadian-indie-band kind of name), and TPC was as bouncy and energetic as ever (also, they still look about 12).

But they had these lights. They were neat, but very very bright, and pointed directly at the audience. OW, my poor retinas. I actually ended up putting on my sunglasses, which dulled the effect slightly and made it possible for me to watch the show without too much searing pain. Yikes.

Now, I have to admit the lights were appropriate for TPC's frenetic music, and probably for the majority of the audience (a sizeable percentage of which I suspect of sneaking in on fake Ids). But would a warning have been too much to ask? Grumble, grumble.

See? I am old and crochety.

(It was a good show, though).
