last unicorn

(no subject)

I found out today that I'm not going to get to travel for work after all.

We're doing focus testing for the site in various cities across the country, and I had been expecting that I'd get to go to at least one of the sessions. I was looking forward to it, both as a change from the in-office routine, and because it would be nice to see what actual people think about this thing that we work so hard on and that we expend so much effort convincing the senior management types is a good idea.

But I'm not going to get to go. The reason? I'm too indispensible.

I suppose it's nice that my work is valuable. But I still feel vaguely cheated. I really wanted to go. I'll be quite annoyed if everyone else gets to go. 'Cause there's no way you can convince me I'm the most necessary member of the team -- if I were, they really should be paying me more!

Ah well.

That aside, I'm still feeling remarkably cheerful, even after most of a week of work. And we're having a skating party on the canal after work tomorrow! Yay! :)
