In which the blogger apologizes abjectly for her failure to post

So, I appear to have dropped off the planet again. Sorry about that. I keep trying to, you know, not drop off the planet.

I'm a little puzzled about quite how it's happened, but somehow I've become extraordinarily busy. Part of it is that I've got a couple of extracurricular activities that are keeping me occupied -- choir (Christmas concert December 6!) and Pathfinders. Part of it is that the new job makes for a longer commute, which didn't seem like a big deal at first, but which actually has ended up absorbing surprisingly large chunks of my day. And it turns out there is a significant difference between riding one bus all the way to work and having to transfer twice for a total of three buses.

I've also been hard at work on, setting it up in a more manageable way, and setting up the new blog. It's actually starting to look quite nice, I think. Part of me is obscurely jealous that I did all the work, and fairplaythings is the one who gets to have the nice site to show off his expertise and his work. But then, I am proud of his work, and I do want to see it shown off!

And then there's the looming holiday season, and all the gift shopping that goes along with it. I'm trying to do some gift knitting, as well, but I hardly ever seem to have time to just sit down and knit, so I don't know how much I'll actually get done...

And it doesn't help that I can't seem to get enough sleep. This is, of course, a wonderful self-perpetuating cycle where I get myself all stressed out about not getting enough sleep and then find myself completely unable to sleep due to having stressed myself out. I am aware that this is not a productive way to handle sleep disturbance.

Let's not even talk about how recently I've been to the gym.*

Basically, I've come to the conclusion that I need to have about 26 hours in a day. Maybe 28.

And I don't even have kids. I don't know how people with kids do it.

* Okay, actually I've been to the gym quite recently -- last night, in fact. I went straight there after work, munching on one of those vaguely disgusting power bar-type things, determined to get in a little baby workout. Once I got into the change room, though, I realized I'd somehow forgotten to pack a t-shirt. So I went home and shoveled snow instead.**

** Given that the temperature's hovering around freezing, the snow is particularly wet and heavy, so I think this counts as weightlifting.
