A Slow News Day

You know there's nothing too exciting going on when the Globe and Mail
decides to create a fuss over the Google

You know, I'm as much of a Canadian patriot as the next person, and I
just can't seem to work up any outrage over not having our national
holiday recognized by a US-based company. Call me crazy, but I've always
thought part of the appeal of the doodle was that it's usually a
surprise, and that it varies from year to year, with different events,
anniversaries, and holidays being featured. It's a nice warm fuzzy when
a foreign organization recognizes Canada Day is some way, but it's not
an entitlement.

And I can't believe I'm actually dignifying this with a response. I
should know better, shouldn't I?
