So I'm not-entirely-unseriously contemplating looking into buying a sewing machine (or maybe borrowing my Mom's for a while, if she'll let me) and learning how to sew my own clothes. This is partly frustration at the retail universe and never being able to get things in pretty colours AND my size, and partly a desire to be more skilled in crafty-type activities, and be able to make pretty (and useful) things. Also, I'm kind of looking for a working-with-my-hands hobby that would be a change from all the brain-work that I usually do. Not being under any illusions about my skill, I fully intend to start with A-line skirts (actually, maybe a couple of throw pillows first as a warm-up), and gradually work my way up to sundresses.

Am I out of my mind?
