Things are looking up, though. For starters, I'm going to Nova Scotia for Thanksgiving with fairplaythings, which will be a nice change of scenery. I'm actually kind of looking forward to hanging out with his family. Is that weird?
I'm also looking forward with great anticipation to mid-November, when I'm going to the Royal Winter Fair. To see the horsies! I've always rather wanted to go to the Royal. It should be great fun.
There are a number of good shows coming up, too. It looks like it'll be a good season for music. I've been listening to Sarah Slean's new album, and really enjoying it. She's going to be in Ottawa in November, so I'm looking forward to that show. It's at Capitol, though. Ugh. I'm noting some dates down for my reference... feel free to ignore:
November 6 -- Ottawa ON -- Governer General Award
November 12 -- Peterborough ON -- Gordon Best Theatre
November 27 -- Ottawa ON -- Capitol Music Hall
And I hear rumours that Stars have a new album and tour coming, so that's exciting. :)
The weather's been getting steadily colder, which is unfortunate (I'm still bitter that we didn't get a proper summer), but to be expected at this time of year. I'm trying to figure out how much longer I can stand to ride my bike to work. At least 'til the snow falls. Surely I can hold out that long? I just need to dig out my mittens. And the cold weather is nice for curling up in bed with a book and a mug of hot chocolate... I may in fact go and do that shortly.
So yeah. I'm still alive, and doing okay. There are good things coming. With any luck, I'll actually manage to post a little more often to tell y'all about the good things. ;)
